We love Melaka! <3

As a citizen of Melaka, I'm sad to say that I'd never been to any of the historical sites, mainly the A'famosa Fort.. I have no rights to call myself a Malaccan. Well, all that changed yesterday ^____^ For the first time, I set foot on the Melaka Fort with my friends!!! *sense of accomplishment*

We saw a Melaka Tree and took a pic with it!!! A nice shady tree where Melaka existed because of it. Imagine if the tree weren't there where Parameswara sat and he sat under a Durian tree instead, Melaka might be named Durian instead *swt*

We guessed it's a Melaka tree actually, no idea whether it is or not...

Next, we saw lots of trishaws lavishly decorated with plastic flowers of all colours. Tempted to take a picture with it, we asked a nice trishaw 'pak cik' for permission.. Turned out we had to pay RM1 per picture for it, so we shrugged off the idea. And move on to an alternative, taking picture of a wagon, which was once the carriage for kereta lembu.

It's an enlarged version of the real thing for the sake of tourist to take pictures, no cow will be able to pull this wagon.

For those people that were M'sian and studied History, you all would had known that Melaka was a place of war many many years ago and definietly canon were used in the battles.

Jee Hui was forced to take this picture with me and Sher Minn *evil grin*

More pictures of the cannon, cause erm.. we love the cannon?

Our whole group

*happy* Well, how often you get a chance to take picture of a cannon?

And now begin our voyage up the A'famosa fort.. many many flight of stairs to climb.

A view of the whole Melaka Fort

Up up and away we go... Climb climb climb *chant hundred times*

Going up

One of my favourite picture is the one below, cause of the 'struggle' to take it. We asked a mid-age lady to help take it.. *afraid of young hyper youngster that might run off with the camera*, we thought, we wanted someone to not be able to run fast XD
She had no idea how to use the camera and held it backwards, nearly taking a picture of her instead of us. In the end, her young daughter helped us to take it *laughs*

Jee Hui, Me, Sher Minn and Melissa^^

Oh ya, forgot to mention. Jee Hui was more interested in a cat than she was with the historical site *throw tomatoes at her*

A cat person

When we almost reached the top, we raced up! Yeah.. second childhood! At the top was the Melaka Fort located looking as strong as it was hundreds of years ago where it managed to help prevent Melaka from being taken over easily.

One of the windows in the fort

We see nothing, hear nothing, speak nothing at Melaka Fort...

The view on top of A'famosa was magnificient, overlooking a nice scenery of Melaka and with a constant breeze. *enjoying the moment* A great place to go to relax and get things off your mind. And we were lucky, the weather during that time was perfect, not sunny, but cloudy^^

The Melaka Tower is in the background, our faces all black =.=

All of you might had known that the hibiscus is our national flower. Well, if you do not know that, you failed as a M'sian or you had been living in Mars for the rest of your lives.

Here's a really pretty white hibiscus we saw

Well, we're proud to be a Malaccan *laughs*

We LOVE Melaka!
We forced Jee Hui to take this picture, she was REALLY unwilling to take it. A nice uncle selling souvenirs on the peak took this for us. A really nice and friendly guy, sorry we didn't bought anything from your stall >_<

Our last picture before making our way down from the peak.

Hehe, I like this picture a lot!! ^____^

We decided to make our way down when we realised the sky's turning darker and it might rain. None of us had an umbrella with us. While making our way down, I reminded all of them don't be too fast until slip. At the moment I said that, I slipped *how ironic*.. While I slipped, Melissa being the unlucky one was grabbed by me to regain my footing. Thank god her feet had a firm grip on the stairs that moment, or both of us might came tubbling down. *imagine the ruckus and chaos we might had cost*

Soon, we reached ground and gained shelter in Dataran Pahlawan, also another historical site where Tunku Abdul Rahman announced the independence of Malaysia. Now instead of a field, it's a big shopping mall with a large field right on top of it^^ A great place to visit if you ever come to Melaka.
There's a beautiful fountain right on the premise, with cravings of the scene about Malaysia, national flag, Tunku Abdul Rahman, hibiscus and etc.

Well, that concluded our trip to the A'famosa. A nice but memorable day I will always remember^^
